Inter religious dialogue in Youth work

Inter-Religious dialogue in Youth Work is a long term project which has the main aim:

  • to foster the effectiveness and quality of youth work through the development of youth workers, youth leaders and NGO representatives’ competencies in the field of interfaith dialogue.
  • to prepare youth leaders/workers how to deal with religious issues in youth work and promote dialogue among young people with different religions and believe belongings in international youth work.

ABOUT PROJECT___________________________________________________________________

As we know Europe is facing with a huge emigrant problem. A lot of people are migrating from warzones in Middle East, but also from other of the World where the fleeing from poverty. Most of this people come from different cultures and religion.  Unfortunately because of this, there is a lot of tension in most European countries. Racism, xenophobia and intolerance are rising among the European people.

Issues related to religious diversity and discrimination are becoming increasingly important in European societies. Not only is Europe becoming more diverse in religion and belief, providing a rich opportunity for intercultural understanding, but it is also an undeniable aspect in many modern-day conflicts in intercultural relations. It is important to respect the development of individual religion and belief identities and to confront prejudice and discrimination based on religious and convictional differences.

The usage of Inter-religious dialogue can encourage unity and peace, help to improve the knowledge and skills of participants, and lead to mutual understanding. We do believe, that one thing is to read about it in literature, but totally other – try out in practice

2nd TRAINING COURSE 16 February – 24 February 2017_________________________________

During the TC participants will have possibility to discover the sense of IRD on personal and professional level. The TC is designed to provide space for sharing practices and tools in IRD in youth work and participants will also encourage developing new tools and exploring new concepts about IRD.

This training course will give the participants the chance for individual reflection about religion, beliefs, cultural reflection about role of the religion in their country.  Also they will learn more about religious dialogue. At the same time it will allow participants to share that reflection in small groups and on plenary, where they will mix with people from different countries. Overall the participants will also have a chance to interact with and listen to the inputs of experts who will connect the topic of religion to the challenges of youth work.

- To help participants to develop the necessary competences for the use of different approaches for promoting interfaith dialogue;
- To introduce to participants relevant and effective tools working in a field of interfaith dialogue as well to provide opportunity to probe these methods in practice;
- To support the development of  participant’s (Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes and Values) in the field of inter-religious dialogue
- To promote active participation of youth organizations from all religious, ethnic and cultural backgrounds in public debates and stimulate inter-religious on local level, national and international lever raising their visibility in the public sphere
- To create an open discussion about the concepts of Inter-religious Dialogue and create new tools that can help youngsters to apply in different environments
- To raise awareness on the importance of Inter-religious dialogue among the future youth multipliers from European Union countries and non European Union countries

1st TRAINING COURSE 30th of November – 8th of December 2016__________________________

This training course will give the participants the chance for individual reflection about religion, beliefs, cultural reflection about role of the religion in their country.  Also they will learn more about religious dialogue. At the same time it will allow participants to share that reflection in small groups and on plenary, where they will mix with people from different countries. Overall the participants will also have a chance to interact with and listen to the inputs of experts who will connect the topic of religion to the challenges of youth work.

- To develop knowledge and skills of participants in the field of interfaith dialogue;

- To help participants to develop the necessary competences for the use of different approaches for promoting interfaith dialogue;

- To provide participants with educational support and open space for sharing and exchange knowledge on inter-religious dialogue

- To support the development of  participant’s (Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes and Values) in the field of inter-religious dialogue

- To provide participants with useful tools that will help them to challenge ignorance, prejudices and foster mutual understanding

- To raise awareness on the importance of Inter-religious dialogue among the future youth multipliers from European Union countries and non European Union countries
